Liquid Applied Sound Deadener (LASD) Absorbent Pads
HISTORY
The LASD Absorbent Pad was developed in partnership with a major domestic automotive assembly plant in early 2006 to eliminate paint defects caused by water drops from the LASD applicator.
FUNCTION
Every second cycle, the LASD applicator is immersed in water for cleaning. The applicator retains water upon removal. The LASD Absorbent Pad, being made of porous and wicking materials, allows the water to be absorbed and retained.
BENEFITS
Collection of excess water on the applicator often results in drips on the vehicle. If not identified during inspection, this will cause defects in the painting process. This pad insures that the water is drawn away from the applicator and absorbed within the pad. This product can hold exponentially more water than the sponge that was originally used and will not transfer the moisture back onto the applicator when saturated.
